East of Sumida
Sumida River runs through eastern part of Tokyo from north to south. The area east of Sunida was developped after the Great Fire in Meireki which abolished Edo in 1657. The area was also abolished twice in modern ages, firstly by The Great Earthquake in 1923, secondly by The Great Airraid by US in 1945. The area is called the second SHITAMACHI Map of East of Sumida |
